Family

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July and took time to remember why we celebrate this holiday. I am so thankful for all of the sacrifice that men and women in this great country of ours have made.
I am also thankful that this year all of our kiddos were home with us. This just doesn't happen on the 4th very often at all. We had such a great time. First we went to the square in Greenwood where the boys played on the bounce water slides, ate funnel cakes and hot dogs, went on a hay ride, saw Captain America but wouldn't let us take their picture with him so Jamie did.
 Isaiah's first 4th of July
Memorial stones on the square. Jonah is named after my dad.
After the square, we went home to nap and get ready for the evening fun. And fun we had, lots of it. Since Jonah's birthday is Monday and we were all together we had his birthday party. I don't think I have ever seen Jonah so excited.
After all of that we went outside to eat and then began the fireworks, slowly at first but finally just at dark we got into full swing. We watched the big show in Greenwood from our house (which we always have been able to do), fairly big show from across the street at two different houses, and our own mini show. All in all it was a very good day, one of the best.

Launching a lantern with the fireworks in the background..............priceless.
