Chalkboards

I have finally finished these chalkboards I have been working on. I know everyone is doing them and I wanted to give it a try. First I found these cabinets doors at the Habitat Restore store in town. They didn't have any handle holes so I didn't have to fill in anything. Just prime and then paint and sand. I have been wanting one in my kitchen ever since I saw one my niece had painted using part of an old door. I am going to put them in my antique booth but I may have to keep one of them. We'll see. Oh and I am linking to Under the Table Dreaming's Sunday Showcase.

The Beach

The beach is where I long to be. I love it there and can't really tell you why. There is just something about the sand, the smell, the water, everything that draws me there. It 's a funny thing...it draws me and my two sisters there. We went to the Florida beaches a couple of times growing up so it's not like we grew up going to the beach in the summers but we sure do love going there. If I could get my entire family to move there, I would. Years ago, my dad got transfered to North Carolina but decided to quit his job and move back home to Arkansas. Oh my, we almost got there. My favorite beach so far is the Outer Banks beaches. It is hard for me not to go to the beach every year but I think my family would desert me if I tried to make them go. I do love to travel, always have but the beach is my all time favorite. I think we are going back next summer at least that is what we are planning on doing. Yeah!!!

Meet me on monday

Here we are again on Meet Me on Mondays.
1. Do you watch any Soap Operas? Not any more. I watched Days of our Lives when I was in college. Everyone in my dorm got together at noon at watched it.
2. What appliance is used the most in your house? I would have to say the Washer/Dryer. For only three people now living there, we sure do generate a ton of laundry.

3. Do you wear make-up every day? OMGosh yes.

4. What is your worst pet-peeve? How do I pick just one? I think it would have to be lying to me.

5. What is your favorite lunch meat? Rotessierie Chicken

What about you? Have you joined us?

Jenny's Birthday

This weekend Jenny came home and we celebrated her birthday with a family day at the house. We didn't actually do much but we all enjoy being together and watching Noah play and holding little Jonah. Jenny has been collecting little cars from the movie "Cars" for Noah and she has a bunch. She doesn't do anything small. He already had a bunch of them when she brought about 10 more in the packaging, lined them up on the floor and waited for him to find them. OMGosh when he found them, I think it completely overwhelmed him. He giggled which I have never heard him do, and then just kept raising one hand. And when Jenny and him started opening them, he would squeeze him fists and shake each time. He was so excited. He loves playing with all of his cars. He lines them up in a neat row, then picks them up four or five at a time and dumps them in some kind of bucket or even Jonah's car seat. Sometimes with Jonah in it. I have watched him play with these cars for very long periods of time. He gets so focused. I wonder what is going on through that precious little head of his.
We also bought him a small swimming pool with a slide, blew it up and filled it early so the water could warm up thinking he would really like this. Uh, NO! He loves "swimming" in this bathtub but no where else. He has no use for the water no matter how warm it is. Oh well, we tried. Meanwhile Jonah pretty much slept through it all. Such a sweet baby.
After trying the pool and taking him swimsuit off, Noah decided he would swing a while. Now that he loves to do. We really had a great day doing not much of anything but playing, eating, Jonah sleeping and being together. How great is that!
