I bet you wonder why I am posting this picture. It is to show our back porch and this is the best picture I have right now. I need help with decorating this porch. It is not really large but it's not tiny either. The sun hits this porch in the afternoon and I would like to have something across the openings to help block that. I have thought about sheers or those bamboo like blinds that roll up but I wonder what the weather would do to that. It does rain in on this porch when the wind is blowing. Also, any suggestions for the floor. Right now it is just painted concrete. Please help me decorate this porch. Any ideas anyone? Just click on the picture and it will bring it up larger so you can really look at the porch.

Last night I fixed a blackberry cobbler from Pioneer Woman's blog. I have never fixed one that didn't have a pie crust on it. This was super easy and very very good. I probably won't go back to the pie crust thing. Just go to her blog and look under recipes. Can't wait to try the steak bites next. Yum-0 as Rachel Ray would say.

Isn't God good? In Psalms 43:1 He tells me that he knows me by my name. Isn't that exciting. He actually knows MY name and YOUR name. There are so many people in this world but he knows us each one individually. Isn't that just the coolest. He watches over us and meets our every need and desire. And in Psalms 91 He tells us that he is protecting us. You know, He protects us from things that we don't even know were about to happen. I am so thankful for that.
I am also so thankful that tomorrow my entire family is going to be together. Jenny is taking us all out for dinner. We are going to drive to Rogers and go to Famous Dave's Barbeque. Yum! She does this every year and it is so great that we all live close together and can do this. How much fun it is going to be this year with our little Noah. Although he is getting so big already. Tomorrow he will be 5 months old! Wow how times flies. Mother always told me the older I got, the faster time would go. We all have enjoyed Noah so much if he isn't just rotten, it will only be by the grace of God.
And Oh wow, Jenny is also taking me to New York City next month. I can't wait. It has been a long time since I was there and then it was actually only to drive through with my family and we were pulling a boat. THROUGH NEW YORK CITY! What can I say, we had Arkansas car tags. Can't imagine what people thought and probably don't want to know. I love to travel and I am finally getting to do a lot of it. Some day has arrived.
Have a blessed weekend.

Precious Noah

Today I am babysitting my grandson, Noah. He is so precious. God has blessed us so much with this little guy. I pray I have a dozen more (girls included). I don't get to do this much because of work but I decided today was my day to take off and get to know him a little better. I am also today making it a matter of much pray to have a breakthrough in some of the things I have been praying about for ... let's see now... about 10 years. I won't list them here except for my oldest son Josh who I know will make a complete turnaround very soon. I pray for Jesus to bring him to complete salvation and a close personal relationship with him. I know many of you have children that don't serve the Lord but don't EVER give up on them. God promises us our families and I am standing firm on that promise. I am trusting in God's timing which is always perfect. It is hard sometimes to wait, but I am trying with everything in me to trust him and wait for everything that I pray for. I am not a patient person but with God's help I can do this.

Today I am posting a website that my husband and I both read. It is from David Wilkerson. This is a man that I truly believe is a modern day prophet. He has truly been a man of God that is powerfully anointed. (If you don't know who this is, watch the movie Cross and the Switchblade. This is a story about David Wilkerson when he was a young man.) In his blog he is giving us a warning which my family and I are taking very seriously. Here it is: http://davidwilkersontoday.blogspot.com/2009/03/urgent-message.html

Regarding my last blog about MS, I wanted to give a face to this cause from our family. April is my niece and she has MS. We will be walking soon to help. Please if you feel you should, donate and support MS.

Dear Friends and Family,
The National MS Society is kicking off our annual MS Walk. I am planning to be a part of that event and I am asking you to join me in the fight against MS by making a contribution to support my effort.
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to creating a world free from MS. They simultaneously fund research for a cure while also helping people who currently live with MS lead more fulfilling lives. I believe in the work they do, and I invite you to see for yourself all the good they've done for the MS community. More than 400,000 Americans live with MS, and your support can and will make changes in their lives.
Please help by making a donation - large or small - to fight MS. Or, why not join me on the day of the event? Become a participant and side by side, as teammates, we can work together to raise the funds to make a difference.
Whatever you can give will help! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.
Sincerely,
Teresa

Good Morning. This blog party is wonderful. I am really enjoying meeting everyone here. I am also enjoying going to other blogs and meeting new people there. What a wonderful way to meet other Christian women and be encouraged by them.
I would like to give to you a word from my husband's newest book. We as a family have found this idea to be very helpful in our everyday living.
You can live out your full purpose of life as God intended. You do not have to be ruled out of your emotions and reasonings as most are. You can know "spirit dominance"and demand that you body and soul come into cooperation with your spirit. Spirit dominance is the human spirit submitted to the teacher, the Holy Spirit, with flesh (soul and body) cooperating to the maturity of the believer and the Glory of God.
Living out of emotion can be very hard on us. They cause us to do things that we wish we hadn't or for a situation to get out of hand very quickly. Most people especially us women do live out of our emotions because we are a very emotionally species. I am still learning to not look at situations through my emotions but through the Spirit. If we step back and learn to live out of the Spirit such as with disciplining our children, I think we will be much better parents. This can be applied to every area of our lives and we will have much more harmony in our families.
Have a blessed day.

Good Morning and welcome to our Titus 2 Blog Party! Yeah! To introduce myself, I am an older mother of four grown children and one grandson. I originally started blogging just to kind of journal about our family but I am hoping this will grow into something that I can share with younger mom experiences I have had raising my family. I praise God for the oportunity to share just a little with you. I was not one of the blessed stay at home moms but was blessed to have jobs where they were very understanding about my need to be involved with my children and their activities. It can be done. I very seldom missed a class party, a sporting event or anything else they were involved in and let me tell you they were involved in everything from band to sports. God is and God is good. Hope to hear from you all soon. Have a blessed day!
