**HOTTEST ALL-TIME TEMPERATURE EVER RECORDED IN FORT SMITH AT 115**
I have never in my lifetime seen temps this high unless I was out west in the desert. This is just absolutely crazy. AND we have had so many fires very close to home. Mainly grass fires but there have been some homes destroyed. Our poor firemen are working so hard and in this heat. I don't know how they do it. We have had one fire here in our town that has been burning off and on for almost a week now and there have been firemen or the forestry service there 24/7. When you go outside you can just feel the sun cooking you. We have had somewhere over 35 days of over 100 degree weather straight. Please dear God, we need some slow drenching rains!

We, out here in West Texas, are in a terrible drought. No snows or rain since last October. Our lawns are brown, flowers all dead and our water bill is too high if we use too much water. Our town is very low on drinking water...just terrible.
