I don't know why I haven't already posted this, maybe I thought I had but if I have......Oh Well. Kacee had been telling me that she was having an "open house" the first part of September for their new house. I thought it was kind of strange since they hadn't been in the house but only a few weeks but whatever. I also thought it kind of strange that Jenny was coming in for it but at the same time thought it was nice of her. Kacee also told Jamie that's what this gathering was. She invited all of their friends and we also invited a lot of the people from the church because they were asking when they could come see the house. After all of their friends had arrived and some of the church people, Carah called everyone to attention and gathered everyone in the main room. I thought we were going to have a prayer over their house but then Carah announced that Jamie was going to pop some balloons that were hanging on the wall to reveal the gender of their baby. (so this was really a gender reveal party) As he popped them, pink and blue confetti spilled from one of the balloons. Everyone looked puzzled and Jamie looked stunned to say the least. Twins??? Oh my!!! Kacee even looked stunned. Then Carah brought out a gift for Kacee to open and it was this:
We all started crying. Especially Kacee. Finally! A girl after three wonderful, tough little boys. Earlier that day, Kacee and her two sisters and Jenny and Jessica went with Kacee to have an ultrasound done to find out the gender of her baby. The tech was instructed NOT to tell Kacee but to tell the other girls and then it would be revealed that night. Jamie didn't know she was having this done. What a surprise for us all. After the ultrasound, Kacee went home and the girls went shopping. I can't wait to get to hold, kiss and hug this precious little girl God is blessing our family with. AND I get to shop for girly things now. Yeah! By the way, the pink and blue confetti was only a joke to throw everyone off and boy did it.
