Fall is my favorite time of year! I love all the smells, colors, activities, the cooler weather but not freezing yet, soups. Just love it. And apparently my sweet Kacee loves some of the activities too because she brought all the "fixin's" over last night for us to make caramel apples. They are so yummy. While we were making caramel apples, Jamie was carving pumpkins. But not the old fashioned way with a knife. Oh no, not Jamie. Nothing traditional about him. He went out and bought a dremel and actually carved some pretty cool pumpkins. We also carved some of these pumpkins on Saturday and then Kacee took the pumpkin seeds and toasted them. I have never done that before but they were really good. After all of this activity this week, I think it is now officially Fall in the Brown house.

4th Birthday!
Last Saturday we had Noah's 4th birthday party at our house on the patio. It was a great day for it, the weather was good, plenty of room, outside, and lots of friends and family to help us celebrate. I'm thinking from looking at the many hundreds of pictures that were taken that he had a good time. Don't panic! I'm not showing all of the pictures here. Hehe.
Then during the party, Noah had a special surprise guest! (BTW, he is all about Power Rangers)
My oldest daughter made, built, sculpted whatever this entire outfit. She is a graphic designer and loves to do this sort of thing. A couple of years ago for Noah's 2nd birthday she made a lifesize (and she wore it) Buzz Lightyear suit. So creative.

Fall Fun
Every year we take the boys to Wild Things Farm for a hayride, animals, corn maze and picking out a pumpkin and this year we took them plus about 35 other kids and adults with us. We roasted hotdogs, petted goats and pigs, pumped water for a duck race, hayride, slide down huge shavings pile, got lost in a corn maze and finally picked out the best pumpkins we could find. Lots of pictures to follow:

Another project
Another project finished and again no before pictures. I just have a mental block against it I guess. Cute lirrle four-drawer chest to be used anywhere in your house. And it has that "beachy" vibe we all love. I am linking to Homespun Happenings. Check them out.

Just saying......
When I write on this blog, I am doing it for me, my kids and grandkids as a journal of our lives, so I know it is not that interesting to most people BUT I also like to post some of my favorite projects. I don't get to work on them as much as I would like to and I almost always forget to take before pictures. My favorite projects are junking and finding old pieces of furniture or just junk and making it back into something special again. Of course the junking part is so much fun, finding that special piece for a song and taking it home. I see a treasure and my poor husband sees landfill trash. I usually have our carport pretty full of all kinds of things like old doors, windows, cabinet doors, furniture, paint, odd pieces of wood that I might use sometime. The best thing is if it is "FREE". Love that. So yes other than my family which is a major passion of mine, Junkin' is another one. Love my junk.

50th Anniversary
No, not my anniversary (not that many years yet) but our church family's 50th Anniversary Celebration was held yesterday. It was a great day, getting to see old friends that had moved away, family too; lots of hugs and handshaking going on, reminicing about old times. Great day. We are a small church that God has been so faithful to and I am so thankful for. My kids have been raised in this church since they were born. My in-laws were the first pastors and now my husband and I have been blessed to pastor. We are just a big family that loves Jesus and each other.
Of course Papa had to introduce his boys to the congregation just in case some of the visiting people didn't know them.
Beautiful day for 50th Anniversary lunch outdoors.

Just a few more pictures of Dauphin Island and our vacation. Couldn't resist. We took the boys to the Estauriam, goofy boys.
