Moving Day

Jamie and Kacee are moving into their brand new home today. I know they are so excited and can't wait to get settled. They have been living with her parents since October and then because of a septic tank problem there, they have stayed with us the last three weeks or so. I have loved having them but I know they are so ready to be on their own again. I am so happy for them getting in the new home. Noah seems to understand and be excited too. This will give them both plenty of time to get settled before the new baby, Jonah, comes in July. I sure am going to miss seeing Noah everyday but I'll still get to see him a lot. Congratulations Jamie, Kacee and Noah!

What a week!!

Wow! What a week this has been. It actually started last week when Jessica got sick. She had a throat infection and was sick all weekend, then Noah developed ear infections in both ears and ran a pretty high temp most of the week. He is finally on the mend. Jamie got the throat thing as did I but just not as bad as Jessica (she went too long before starting on antibiotics). AND that is besides Kacee and Gary and their allergies and asthma problems. Whew! Everyone is finally starting to feel good and I am proclaiming that this next week will be free of sickness. We as a family will be healthy, praise God. Thank you Jesus for your healing touch.

Thankful Thursday

I am linking to Rhondi's Thankful Thursday. I love that she does this to remind us of how richly we are blessed. I am thankful today for my sisters. I have two and they are the best in the world. We are so close and thankfully live close together so that we can be together often. I love it. We all have four children and all love getting everyone together as much as possible. Thanks, Karen and Detra. I love you.

Rick and Bubba's Big Honkin' Book of Grub

Rick and Bubba’s Big Honkin’ Book of Grubb
By Rick Burgess and Bill “Bubba” Bussey
I have listened on the radio to the Rick and Bubba Show for some time and when I saw this book I knew I had to have it. I actually thought it was going to be just a cookbook with some of their funny sayings to go along with the recipes and since I collect cookbooks this was right up my alley. There really aren’t that many recipes, but there are many funny stories. Rick and Bubba have a natural talent for telling a good story and as they love to eat, they have some great recipes in their book. I would recommend this “cookbook” to anyone needing a good laugh and comfort food to go with it.

Join with me

Today I am joining with a good friend of my daughter-in-law in a challenge to honor our husbands. It starts today and goes through May 27th which is mine and Gary's 38th anniversary. Wow! It sure doesn't seem that long until I think of all the things that have transpired in those 38 years. So here is my list of five things I am going to do everyday for him and he won't even know it's a blog thing because he just doesn't get this blogging thing. Join Emily and me in this challenge. I know you can do it and it will strengthen your marriage.
1. Pray for him
2. Rub his feet or neck, or scratch his back after a hard day (and if you know me you know this is something he loves and I don't)
3. Email him when he’s at work, telling him how much you love him
4. Brag about him to other people both in front of him and even when he’s not there
5. Put love notes in his pockets and brief case

These are just a few of the ways that we as wives can show our love to our husbands. If you want to join with Emily click here. Thanks Emily for reminding all of us to show God's love to our husbands and make our homes what they should be.

So Creative!

My daughter Jenny and my niece Lana are so very creative. They both repurpose old furniture among other things. Jenny is a full time creative arts director and Lana is a full time mom and part time student so these girls have plenty to do without redoing old furniture but I just had to show you what they have been up to. Take a look and if you are interested in anything they are doing, yes they are selling their furniture. Jenny doesn't actually have these listed on her website but she does have an etsy shop where she sells other cute little wooden people, http://www.etsy.com/shop/jbfatcatstudio and Lana's is a facebook page, Dumpster Diva's and Swanky. Oh and Lana also makes really cute flip flops.

Easter

What a wonderful but tiring Easter weekend we had. Noah dyed Easter eggs with help from his mom and dad and Aunt JJ, we all had dinner together, went to church Easter Sunday morning, went to Detra's for Easter lunch and then the annual egg hunt. She does so much for the kids even though Kylah wasn't going to be there. We sure did miss her and Dex and Chelsea. We also missed Jenny. She couldn't come in this weekend either. This was Noah's first Easter egg hunt and did he ever enjoy it. He knew to shake the egg to see if it had anything in  it and if it did, he would sit down and begin eating the candy. He couldn't stuff it in fast enough. Kacee, his mom, normally doesn't let him had that much sugar but who could stop that little sweetie pie. We are such a blessed family, immediate and extended. I can't wait to add more to it.
