Sayings
I was reading a blog that does nothing but record his daughter's cute little sayings. Wish I had thought of doing something like that when my kids were little but then there was no such thing as a blog. Still I should have written them down somewhere but since I didn't I think I will begin making a record of my grandkids sayings. The first one that comes to mind is from Noah. His mom was telling him to eat his dinner and then he could have dessert. Noah told her he was full. Ok she says that's fine. Then Noah asks for dessert. Mom says but you said you're full, remember? Noah proceeds to tell her that "his dessert stomach is not full. " You have to love their logic.

Christmas Parade
It wouldn't seem like Christmas if we didn't go to the Christmas parade in our little town. I love it and love being in a small town. I love the single high school band, the athletes on their own floats, the cheerleaders even down to the youngest ones, seeing people you don't see much during the year because everyone comes out for the parade, Santa on the square (yes we have a town square) and all the decorations. I love it.

My family history
I have been doing family history research lately and have run across quite a few old pictures....some I have seen and some I have never seen. I love researching family history, finding new people and wondering how they lived; seeing how large some of the families were. It's really pretty cool, I think, or maybe I am just getting old. I don't know and don't really care, I just know I really like it. So as a part of my journal here, I am going to post some of these old pictures I have found. I'm also going to tag these pictures for future generations supposing they read this.
This first one is of my grandmother, my dad, my great grandmother and me (up in the corner) at White Sands, NM.
This is Ma and Dad Sims, Granny Yates' parents.
This is Pa and Big Ma Yates, Grandad Oscar's parents.
Ma Sims
The girl in the back on the right side is my grandmother. She really didn't change much in looks.

Karate!
Noah had a Karate tournament or rather Kuk Sool Won (don't ask me the difference) a couple of weekends ago. He has only been taking lessons for about 2 months and is really loving it. BUT the tournament is a lot of waiting around. Noah competed in three different catagories......I don't know the names of any of them but the sparing. He came in third place in that one. Yeah Noah. He did really well in all of the events as well.
He got a medal and got to stand on the podium just like in the Olympics.
