I would suggest Canal St if you are looking for "knock-off" purses, tiffany jewelry, sunglasses and watches (don't buy in the stores there, which are little alley stores, but rather follow the chinese who whisper "gucci, prada, louis vuitton" and they will take you a block away to factory spaces they rent to sell the knock-offs. Or go to Battery Park to buy these itmes. Th large stores midtown, like Macy's, Saks, etc are VERY expensive. SoHo and Greenwich Village and TriBeCa areas have sweet artistic shops with handmade treasures (jewelry, home decor) Little Italy has fabulous restaurants and a fun place to go for lunch is where the "Friends" was taped and it's called Little Owl (google it) If anyone sews, the garment district is fun (tomorrow I will post about MOOD). Don't be afraid to "subway" around $8.25 to buy a one day unlimited fun pass. The bus tours (hop on hop off) are a good way to see the city but can run close to $100.00
Feel free to email me with more questions - I am not from NYC but I go once a year to shop

patti - ppultorak at gmail dot comPatti @ Pandoras Boxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07168379052525278502noreply@blogger.com
